Wine regions along New Zealand's east coast, including Hawkes Bay and Gisbourne on the North Island and Marlborough on the South Island, provided the grapes for this excellent, value-priced Sauvignon Blanc. A long, dry growing season produced well-ripened fruit with a near-perfect acid balance. Fermented in stainless steel, then blended and lightly fined, this medium-bodied wine offers aromas of grapefruit and citrus with grassy undertones. On the palate, vibrant rounded, forward fruit flavors of juicy grapefruit with hints of melon lead to a long, zesty finish. Good as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to shellfish, salads, goat cheese, asparagus and artichokes.
